Tomorrow at sundown, Ramadan begins. Ramadan and Eid are two Muslim traditions I knew little about when I began my teaching career. I have reached out to families, educators and authors over the years to continue to learn. Nothing beats the twinkle in a child’s eye when you shine a light on a tradition or holiday their family celebrates.

Cue the happy tears.
